    Shop Small Saturday

    Saturday November 26th
    Celebrated the Saturday after Thanksgiving at participating businesses. Enjoy refreshments, store specials and holiday sales. Shop Small Saturday is a national promotion by American Express to support shopping with locally owned businesses. The Elgin Chamber of Commerce, the Elgin Main Street Board, and the Economic Development Corporation hope you'll celebrate the Saturday after Thanksgiving in Elgin!

    Time to Shine

    Saturday December 3rd
    Tis the season for FREE holiday themed children's activities, Santa's reindeer games, Christmas carols, and festive food trucks! This new event is being held in conjunction with the Hot Cocoa Stroll & Elgin Lighted Christmas Parade and features the official dedication of our #ETX150 time capsule at 1:50 PM at the library.

    Select a limited-edition holiday souvenir mug and sample a variety of Hot Cocoa from downtown businesses and vote for your favorite during the Hot Cocoa Stroll!  Holiday by the Tracks includes visits with Santa, a day of shopping at the local businesses in Historic Downtown Elgin, the Elgin Lighted Christmas Parade starts at dusk and is followed by a live nativity by St. Peters Lutheran Church.


    Santa Sightings


    Visit with Santa throughout the month of December and take your own pictures to share with family and friends.  Enjoy this magical holiday tradition with your child or grandchild in the relaxed setting of various downtown businesses. Details at www.elgintx.com 

    Christmas Tree Farms 

    Elgin is home to two choose and cut Christmas tree farms, where you can select your tree and cut it in the field while enjoying games, refreshments and lovely gift shops. Elgin Christmas Tree Farms and Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm are open throughout the holiday season starting Thanksgiving weekend.     The Art of Giving 

    Saturday, December 10th
    This holiday season, downtown businesses will be partnering with local artists and featuring non-profit organizations. Consider a handcrafted gift and giving back to a local non-profit. E
    njoy a showcase of unique handcrafted items from local artists in the Elgin area and non-profit organizations benefiting the local community. The Clever Tiger & Studio will feature an artist collective, and Studio 621 will be open with artists sharing their creations. 



    Holiday Sweater Weekend 

    Saturday, December 17th
    Wear your holiday sweater while you shop downtown and you may win prizes, and special discounts, participate in a Tackiest Holiday Sweater Contest!  Store Specials throughout downtown and you can enjoy delicious dining options too!

    Sip Shop & Stroll 


    Thursday, December 8th
    Sip a little wine and shop as you stroll through the stores in Historic Downtown. You will find diverse merchandise, eclectic decor, artwork by local artists and live music in many of the venues.     Elgin Lighted Christmas Parade

    Saturday December 3rd
    This event takes place the 1st Saturday of December at 6:00 PM. Sponsored by the City of Elgin, Elgin Volunteer Fire Department, and Bastrop Travis Counties ESD #1. This annual parade is a favorite of the locals as well as the many visitors it attracts with the creativity and diversity of the floats.
