Program Manager

Elizabeth Marzec

Elizabeth graduated from Southwestern University in 2012 with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and has worked in fields ranging from tech start up to greenhouse management. As the Program Manager, Elizabeth works to bring the Elgin community over 40 unique events throughout the year as well as continuous weekly and monthly programs and classes. She applies for and administer grants for park improvements, develops community partnerships and coordinates volunteer support. 

Elizabeth also trains and manages the Recreation Center Coordinator, the Full Time Program Assistant, two Part Time Program Assistants, 3 Full Time Front Desk Staff, 10 Part Time Front Desk Rec Staff and 28 Lifeguards.

This position is responsible for managing the Elgin Recreation Center, the Elgin Recreation Center Front Desk Staff, Sports Leagues and Fitness Classes.

This position is responsible for planning and implementing large-scale events at the Elgin Recreation Center and in the City of Elgin Parks System. This position works closely with the PT Program Assistants and Front Desk Elgin Recreation Center Staff.

PT Program Assistant

Grace Perez

Grace is a Senior at St. Edwards University, majoring in Criminal Justice. She is responsible for helping plan and implement large-scale events such as Nature Night, Catch & Release Fishing and more. She collaborates and coordinates with community partners to invite local organizations to partner with Elgin Parks & Recreation and maximize the experience for our patrons. 
Grace has also spear-headed the volunteer program through the Elgin Parks & Recreation Department, including tracking hours, creating and offering incentives and scheduling training days. 

PT Program Assistant

Jackie Aguilar


Jackie is a certified Yoga instructor with experience in event planning at summer camps. She is responsible for the Active Older Adult Programming at the Elgin Recreation Center including the "Prime Time" program days that include craft days, puzzle days, bingo and more! 
She collaborates with community partners and local businesses to offer our active older adults fun and engaging programs throughout the year. 
Jackie is bilingual and is working hard to translate our flyers and hand outs to ensure equitable access to all of our patrons.

ERC Staff


The Elgin Recreation Center Staff handle all things from keeping the Rec Center looking clean and tidy, to checking in members, handling bookings and rentals, registering people for events and educating patrons on proper use of facilities and equipment. 
Members of the Front Desk are critical to the operations of the Recreation Center and the implementation of our programs. If you've ever enjoyed our WildCat Walkers Program, Senior Coffee or Pickleball, thank the Front Desk Team for making it possible!

Lifeguards in the Pool

Morris Pool Lifeguards


Our team of Morris Memorial Pool Lifeguards consists of 28 motivated young adults dedicated to keeping Morris Memorial Pool clean and safe. Our lifeguards keep patrons safe by enforcing rules and regulations, keep the facility clean on their breaks, teach swim lessons and water aerobics.
