The following BIO is provided by Deborah Grassel:
"In one of our investment strategies to put our kids through college we decided to raise emus, just to have the market dive as we were building our flock. We thought there had to be something we could do with those beautiful eggs. When I saw an egg displayed at a local bank, I contacted the artist and thus began my love for egg art.
Attending and teaching at egg shows throughout the USA was a wonderful experience. I have been an egg artist for 27 years and achieved my Masters in Egg Art from the International Egg Art Guild. I have a masters in beading, carving, filigree and diorama.
Periodically, I have an egg art class to have students learn the art of creating eggs from a kit.
The egg art displayed are designed using real eggs, such as; duck, quail, chicken, goose, rhea, emu, and ostrich. The shells are not strengthened.
April 2018: The American Egg Board gave me the honor of using a chicken egg to create the 41st Commemorative egg for First Lady Melania Trump. The egg was presented to her on April 2, 2018.
