
Sue Brashar, was elected to represent Ward 4 on the City Council in May of 2014. Sue is a lifelong resident of Elgin. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1987 and then attended the University of Texas at Austin for a year. She is currently employed by Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) where she has been for the past 14 years. Sue volunteers within the Elgin community including the Hogeye Festival's barbecue cook off and the children's parade and past community Easter Egg Hunts. She has served on various boards including the Elgin Athletic Booster Club, Elgin Little League, the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department ladies' auxiliary and the Elgin Police Officers' Association. She is also a past member of the Federal Correctional Institution, Bastrop Community Relations Board and the Multiple Sclerosis Society's Austin Walk committee. Sue is a past employee of the City of Elgin working at the Elgin Police Department for 5 years. Sue and her husband John, have 1 daughter, Paige, who also lives in Elgin.
