Senior Coffee Social Club at the Elgin Recreation Center

Our patrons aged 60+ are invited to sit and enjoy a free cup of coffee in the Rec Lobby after participating in our Fitness Programs. This is a great opportunity to make new friends, get out of the house and get a free cup of joe. Coffee provided in part by Chariot / Drive-A-Senior.

WildCat Walkers - Free Walking Program for 60+ at the Elgin Recreation Center

Seniors aged 60+ are invited to come to the Elgin Recreation Center for FREE Monday - Saturday from 8:00AM-10:00AM to walk laps in the Gym. Wildcat Walkers is a fun way to socialize with other seniors while walking in a climate controlled gym, providing a safe space for fitness. The Elgin Recreation Center rewards walking milestones, so for your first 100 miles walked, you receive a shirt, for 250 miles you'll receive a pedometer and for 500 miles you'll receive a stainless steel water bottle.

Slow Yoga Flow with Melodie at The Elgin Recreation Center

Melodie is leading a Slow Yoga Flow class geared towards seniors. This class offers specific exercises to help students nurture their bodies. Whether you're looking to improve flexibility or enjoy self-care time, this class is for you!

Portable Pickleball at The Elgin Recreation Center

Break a sweat at our Portable Pickleball at the Elgin Recreation Center. Three nets are set up for beginners, intermediates, and advanced players. Bring your own equipment or ask to borrow our equipment at the front desk. All skill levels are welcome!

Artistry Unleashed | Monthly Teen Art Program | TIE DYE

Get creative with tie dye in the Elgin Recreation Center Kitchen! We'll have snacks, music and a variety of tie dye supplies, all you need to bring is a white shirt you'd like to try! Wear clothes you don't care about and grab your friends to come try your hand at tie dye! Feel free to bring more than one item to tie dye! Beginning in October the Elgin Recreation Center will be offering a variety of tween, teen and family nights for FREE! First Friday: Teen Art Night for ages 13 - 17 Try different types of art from spray painting to cyanotypes and more! Second Friday: Family Sport Nights Grab the kids and come to the Recreation Center for different sport tutorial every month, followed by open play! Third Friday: Cooking for Change for ages 11 - 17 Family Crisis Center will host a cooking class in the Elgin Recreation Center Kitchen with an alternating menu each month!
